We understand that many students, families, faculty, staff, and others in our community have questions and concerns following the recent federal court ruling concerning Illinois laws governing tuition and financial aid eligibility. The University of Illinois System shares these concerns and is carefully reviewing the court’s decision and working with state officials and legal counsel to assess its implications.
Our immediate priority is to provide accurate information and offer timely guidance and support as additional details become available. We, along with the University of Illinois System president and the chancellors of the Springfield and Chicago campuses, remain committed to expanding educational opportunities and supporting student success for all members of our community, consistent with our mission, our values, and federal and state law.
Immigrant Student Support and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Access, Civil Rights & Community will share information when it becomes available. In the meantime, individuals with immediate questions or concerns can contact Immigrant Student Support at undocumented@illinois.edu or call 217-244-1814.
